Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation

Why ARFF is so important to us

Cancer is sadly a word we hear all too often but what makes it even worse is it’s way too common for many children. We all know someone who has battled this disease and we also know the toll it takes on their family. The Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation (ARFF) was founded in 2012 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit to help with the battle and to ease the toll it takes on everyone. Anthony realized during his own battle with cancer that no matter how difficult fighting cancer was for him, it was even more difficult for his family. He believes that an individual does not battle cancer alone, but that the whole family battles it together. The Mission of the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation is to raise money for cancer research and to provide support to children and their families battling the disease. The foundation has also done amazing things at Luries Children's Hospital in Chicago to make every step a little easier with the help and support they receive. Schwartz Motorsports as a family has been affected by cancer and we always strive to do our part in supporting a great cause. We once again are honored to represent ARFF by displaying their logo on our late model race cars and getting the foundation's name out to the racing community along with many local opportunities.

In Memory of Grandpa

Beau Schwartz - 1948-2014

When you ask someone who their hero is they usually say someone famous but in our family, it is Beau/Dad/Grandpa. He was a man that filled those three pairs of shoes to the fullest. As Beau, he started a successful business with Pat his wife and best friend since they were teenagers, he took the time to stay connected to friends, family and everyone in between and stood up for what he believed in. We always knew he was a friend to many but when he passed over 1,000 people showed up at his wake and to say that we were amazed and proud would be an understatement. As Dad, he was so involved in his kid's lives, was their biggest fan and wanted nothing more than them to work hard and just be happy in life. We saved the best for last, Grandpa! As Grandpa, words cannot express the happiness his five grandchildren brought to his life. They should've had him around for so many years but the years they had were filled with more love, jokes, hugs and "I love you's" then any grandchild could ask for. Garrett has put "In Memory of Grandpa" on everything he has raced since he has been gone to remind us all that everything we do is because of him and he is at every event cheering us on.
